Cham-Pom Spritzer

*horns blowing* *confetti flying* *everyone screaming* Happy New Year! Whew, okay well not quite but almost! I wanted to give you a cocktail for New Years Eve! I’ve been crazy for Pomegranate juice (not any Pomegranate juice mind you, Pom Wonderful, there’s just something about it, including that incredibly sexy little bottle) lately and knew we’d have to include that in the recipe. I tend to like fruity drinks and this one is right up my alley! I hope it will be up yours as well.

In addition to being slurp worthy, this drink recipe is also a great way to stretch out your champagne bottle! Yep, budget friendly to boot! You’ll want to avoid using a brut or dry for this. Prosecco would even be wonderful. We all know how much I love my Prosecco!
The amounts you’ll need will depend on how many glasses you’ll be fixing (& well of course the size glass you’ll be using as well ; ) so you’ll have to guesstimate on that one.
*Raising my glass to toast you* I hope your 2010 exceeds your expectations! That your healthy, happy and surrounded by good food & good company! Chin Chin!
Salute!

What you’ll need:
Champagne - CHILLED
Pom Wonderful Pomegranate Juice - CHILLED
Pineapple Chunks & Juice
Lemon Wedges
Sugar
What to do:
Place enough sugar into a small plate to make sugar rims on your glasses. Run a lemon wedge around the side of your glass & then dip into sugar making a sugar rim. Place 4-6 pieces of pineapple into the bottom of glass. Fill glass with 1/4 of Pineapple Juice, 1/4 Pomegranate Juice & then remaining half with Champagne. Garnish rim with a piece of Pineapple. Continue until all glasses are assembled!
Cheers!

Perfect. I’ll be alone with kids on NE Eve and this will be a perfect way to ring it in this year! I’ve had the juice and champagne together but didn’t think to add the pineapples, etc. Great idea!
Thanks for adding me as a friend on Tasty Kitchen - this sounds amazing!

Cheers! I am loving your site. So unique in its design. I enjoy the finished picture so much–too many downloads where there are 7 pictures showing each step that you can not tell apart are nice but when you are on a Fair Access policy with the internet and living out in the country you don’t want to waste all your time on one silly recipe. Thanks!
This drink looks fabulous! I would make it all year round.
Happy New Year Leslie! Thank you so much! Glad you’re enjoying the site. I really appreciate it!
Thanks Bromography! to be totally honest, I’m thinking I’ll be enjoying this year round as well ; ) Happy New Year!
