Ten in 2010

This is going to be harder than I thought… *sigh* but then again, anything worth it usually is…

One of my goals was to be more active, and well sadly I don’t have the luxury of being able to go to a gym. So that’s out (but if anyone out there would like to gift me a gym membership - which would have to include daycare - yes I come with strings (LOL) that’d be awesome - just sayin) I’d be happy to go outside to walk or bike but HELLO IT’S FREEZING people & I’m just not meant for the cold…So I needed to find another solution…. Voila…the wii fit… I know, crazy as it sounds I’ve managed to squeak out 30 mins each day for some me — I mean wii –  time & well I can say that I have noticed a slight difference…

Another goal was to eat healthier! Snacking is another big problem…let’s face it with 3 bambini in the house someone is always hungry and things are around & well I just CAN’T not go into the kitchen. So, I’ve tried to DRINK (and no, before you ask, not wine LOL) when I’m just wanting to snack…more water is great, plus hello it’s helping my complexion as well. Added benefit! Plus I’ve started to incorporate more veggies into the meal plan (if for no one else but me LOL) which is helping. I’ve even, dare I say this, added some salads in.

I know, I know, if you know me you KNOW THAT I DON’T EAT SALADS! Nope, they’re just rabbit food to me & well obviously I’m not a rabbit LOL BUT it’s not any salad, it’s a spinach salad loaded with yummy nuts, fruits & vinaigrettes. Much mo bettah! Perhaps I’ve been eating the wrong salads all the time, or someone has given me the wrong salad (which would be much more like it tee hee)

Baby steps but they seem to be working! So week 1 I will be putting in the + column ; ) I think it’s helped to think of this as NOT a DIET but a healthy change…ah, the power of positive thinking… now to turn off the computer & get to movin…

There are TONS of people participating along with me. You can see the list of participants HERE & see what they’ve been up to!

I read about this and have been wanting to try it!!!! Good work, keep it up! That salad sounds wonderful. Those are my kind of salads as well!

I agree, some salads are just rabbit food. Over dressed iceberg lettuce. But it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve been loving beans on my salads and chick peas. Also yummy. And beans are so very healthy - fiber, iron, protien, b12 not a lot of calories or fat. Maybe I should just make a bean salad.

Good luck with eating healthier. If anyone can make healthy food taste good it should be the Italian chef.

The big problem for me is putting my computer to sleep. So I am hoping to devise a time schedule for my computer, it will be happier and maybe so will I. Being retired has caused me to be a bit lazy.

I would love to know what you think about the wii fit. I am contemplating (well, I’ve been contemplating for over a month now) and would like to know what a real person thinks. Thank you!

Me too I’m doing 10in10. I made some healthy recipes (soups). I ate more veggies. Usually I don’t eat my 5 servings of fruits/veggies. So that was really good. I didn’t exercice. I was sick, it didn’t help.

I have the Wii Fit but it’s not the best. I have Your Shape and I tried it one week ago and it really works. The next day I was sore.

I have just started doing the Wii Fit! It is fun!

I started the P90X by Tony Horton last week. It is the most intense exercise I have ever tried. Wait it is the ONLY exercise that I have tried. LOL I am not saying it is a resolution. I have been waiting to lose weight for years. I just got tired of the big belly and decided to do something about it, since it wasn’t leaving.
I really enjoy the jokes and challenges of this exercise. Once I start I forget how long the exercises are…one night of 90 minutes of exercise and I said “Is that all? I want more.” What? I know crazy!!
It has proven results in 30 days….but recommends 90 days of exercise. My last day of this program will be my birthday. :-)

I was going to suggest the Wii fit! It’s a great program. Another great idea is videos from the library or the evil 30 Day Shred which sells for cheap!
