Agnello in Crosta {Lamb wrapped in Pastry Dough}

Are you looking to add a little fancy schmancy to your cooking repertoire? And by fancy schmancy I mean looking like you’ve slaved in the kitchen all afternoon to prepare a gourmet meal ; ) But DIDN’T.. Well I have a dish for you ; ) And it’s just in time for Valentine’s Day…
And what if I told you I made this fancy schmancy dish in ONE pan? That even went from stove top to oven? Would you believe me ; ) You should, because I DID. With a little help from a Man. A ManPan that is ; ) My romantic dinner for two was made in my10″ steamy saute pan.

To help showcase a few Va Va Voom Valentine dining options I’ve teamed up with ManPans and the fabulous Rachael from La Fuji Mama, Josie – Daydreamer Desserts, Liren – Kitchen Confidante, and Maria – Two Peas and Their Pod. Each one of their steamy selections showcases a different ManPan. They showed us their pans and later I want YOU to “SHOW US YOUR PANS” ; ) {do you feel a GIVEAWAY coming on…}

I wanted to show you the versatility of ManPans Pans so I chose a recipe that I could make start to finish in ONE pan {wiping it clean a few times in between ; ) } Hey you know how much I hate doing dishes LOL. Their pans can handle it. They’re heat resistant up to 700 degrees. Now that’s HOT. Even hotter, that sexy little handle won’t get hot while it’s on the stove top. Nope, you’ll never need a tea towel or hot pad while it’s sitting pretty on the stove. Now, when you put it into the oven, that’s another story so keep the towel handy.

It has a creamy dreamy mushroom sauce that sits a top a piece of luscious lamb that has been sauteed to a buttery herb perfection, wrapped up tight in a pie crust package that bakes up to a flaky golden perfection. *exhaling* It makes a beautiful presentation and the illusion that you’ve slaved away ; ) Perfect for a romantic dinner for two or by adjusting the quantities for a dinner party. Veal would make a fantastic substitution if you can find lamb.
I’ve told you before how much I ADORE my ManPans. I am on a mission to replace all of my pans with ManPans but SOMEONE, some very LUCKY person can WIN and ENTIRE SET of ManPans. All you need to do is “SHOW US YOUR PANS”
EDITED TO ADD: Thank you for your entries. Contest has ended.

Baci e’ in Bocca al Lupo!

What you’ll need:
5 tablespoons unsalted butter – divided
1 tablesoon extra virgin olive oil
1/2 onion – minced
4 ounces mushrooms – sliced
1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
flat leaf Italian parsley – roughly chopped
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 lamb chops – bone removed
1 refrigerated pie crust – cut in half
1 egg - beaten with 1 tablespoon water added {for egg wash}
Note: This recipe was made entirely using a 10″ ManPans Saute Pan. If you do not have a pan that is stove top and oven safe you’ll need to modify the steps.
What to do:
1. Add 2 tablespoons butter and olive oil to pan. Heat over medium heat. When butter has melted, add onion, and mushrooms. Cook for approximately 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add cream, and parsley. Stir to combine. Transfer mixture to a small bowl and keep warm.
2. Wipe pan clean. Add 3 tablespoons butter, rosemary sprigs to pan. Heat over medium heat. Add lamb chops and cook approximately 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of your lamb. Turning as necessary. When cooked, remove from heat and allow to cool. Wipe pan clean.
3. Preheat oven to 395 degrees. To assemble: place one lamb chop onto one half of pie crust. Top with a spoonful of mushroom mixture. Fold pie crust over and seal. Cut edges using a pastry wheel. Cut a small slit into top of pastry dough to allow steam to escape. Using a pastry brush, brush on egg wash. Continue with second lamb chop.
4. Place lamb pastries back into pan, place pan into oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until crust is golden.
5. Top each piece with remaining mushroom mixture.
Buon Appetito!
