Simple Tips for Easter Sunday

Last week I shared with you that I had been challenged by Pepperidge Farm to share a few tips with you on how I elevate special occasion meals. Easter is definitely a special occasion meal and today, I’m sharing three of my favorites stress free, simple but elegant tips with you.

TIP 1: We all like to put our best foot forward for special occasion meals. One way I do that is by gussying the table up. I LOVE to use EDIBLE items to decorate with. Items that are normally incorporated in one or more of the menu dishes. This Sunday for our Easter dinner, I’ll be decorating with lemons and spinach. They add a little bit of whimsy and a lot of freshness.
I like to keep all decorations UNDER eye level so no one is leaning around large centerpieces to talk to each other ; ) I have several small square candle holders that work perfectly. I fill them with a bit of water and then add in, this case, my spinach and run it down the middle of the table with the centerpiece {lemons}. We have a large farm table in our kitchen and it makes for a beautiful and INEXPENSIVE presentation.

TIP 2: While I adore baking my own bread, sometimes there just simply isn’t time. This is where Pepperidge Farm Stone Baked Artisan Rolls come in, allowing you to cut back on time but not on quality. These rolls have been hand scored and are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside {see those crumbs on the plate above}. Just like you would have made them had you had time ; ) I’ll be serving these rolls this Sunday! Also, a bonus tip – When I’m not actually hosting the special occasion meal, I like to take the hostess something to help with the meal. Pepperidge Farm Stone Baked Artisan Rolls wrapped in a tea towel and placed in a snappy basket {like the rolls pictured above} would be a wonderful, and I’m sure much appreciated idea.

TIP 3: First let me tell you, I’m a bit of a sap, and a hopeless romantic. I know, I know ; ) I like to leave a personal, hand written note to my family/guests under their plates. Just a few words, with whatever is on my heart/mind. Sometimes it’s a word of encouragement, a thank you, or a memory. It’s a wonderful momento and great surprise that they’ll see when you’re clearing the table!
These are all simple ideas you can implement to help you have an enjoyable special occasion dinner!
Happy Easter! Buona Pasqua!

Disclaimer: Pepperidge Farm provided me with a stipend for time and materials invested in the Pepperidge Farm Stone Baked Artisan Rolls Tip Challenge. However, my opinions are my own, always have been, always will be ; )

I love tip #3. People we love are what holidays are all about. Taking the time to cultivate relationships and make things more personalized are very important aspects.
Love it Paula! I’m totally a sap too.
Great timing. My mother in law just asked me to bring the bread for Sunday lunch. Now I know what I’ll be taking!
Thanks.
#3 is my favorite…what a sweet way to celebrate with your family!
Very nice. Buona Pasqua!
You are the sweetest! I want to be a guest so I can find my note
Love these ideas!
Wonderful tips…and this is a huge pet peeve of mine “keep all decorations UNDER eye level so no one is leaning around large centerpieces to talk to each other”– thanks for reminding people to keep their centerpieces low!
