V is For Veggies: CapriSun Super V
I have to admit, I loved Capri Suns as a child. They came in a cool, shiny, silver pouch; you poked them with a straw (not too hard or you’d sprout a leak. Not to worry, nothing a pair of scissors and a pour into a glass couldn’t fix.) They were cool, and I was cool for drinking them. At least that’s how I remember it.
So yes they hit that nostalgic button for me. These new Capri Sun Super Vs are not my childhood Capri Suns. They’re better. Why? Because they’re full of — shhhhh — veggies and fruits!
We all know fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet, but it’s not always easy to get the recommended number of servings during the day. Now with Capri Sun Super V Fruit & Vegetable Juice Drink, there’s a great tasting way to help you get the fruits and vegetables you need every day. Each pouch provides one combined serving of fruits and vegetables (3/4 serving fruit, 1/4 serving vegetable) and is a good source of fiber and antioxidant vitamins C and E.
With school starting back soon, these are perfect to pop in their lunch boxes. I learned this trick from my Mom: if you’ll put the Capri Suns into the freezer the night before, in the morning just pop them into your child’s lunchbox to serves as an ice pack to keep food cold. It will thaw out in time in for lunch. Icy cold drink and ice pack all in one!
I very rarely let my kids have soda (of course there are special occasions because let’s face it, I do love soda myself every now and again). For the most part we drink water, lemonade, juice or milk.
Being able to have a COOL option (hello shiny silver pouch) to serve them that’s also healthy? Now that’s a win-win. They love the taste, and I love that it’s got fruits and veggies. Never mind I told them the V stands for VERY good ; )
Serve them as an after school drink with a side of carrots and ranch dressing or sliced apples with a dollop of peanut butter, and they’ll be all set until dinner time!

Awesome! I loved Capri Suns as a kid too. If these taste as good as they did back then I could be fooled by the added veggies. Love the packaging too!
Our healthy snack tip is make sure the kids have a selection of healthy snack choices to choose from. Amazing how much fruit gets eaten when you have it out in a bowl for them.
I keep cut veggies and dip around ALL THE TIME. That way, it’s really handy for the kids to grab on their own.
we make brownies from a box, but just add pureed black beans & unsweetened applesauce.
they love brownies in their lunch box & I love that they are getting some healthy stuff in there too.
Our healthy tip is don’t bring it into the house : )
Love the frozen juice as an ice-pack idea! My trick for keeping things easy is to stay prepared – anything you can do in advance for the week (like pre-cutting veggies) is a big help on busy mornings.
Great idea! I always leave a bowl of apples on the counter. It’s a quick and easy snack.
My boys love Capri Sun so I will definitely pick them up next time I’m at the store. I try to keep lots of fresh fruit for the boys to snack on especially oranges and bananas.
Celery or apples with peanut butter, bananas, dried fruits, string cheese, are favorites.
