Chocolate Covered February: Hershey, PA

Yes there is such a thing as Chocolate Covered February and Susan and I took it in this past weekend with our hubs, all to report back to you of course. We’re such givers, I know. Where is such an event you ask? It’s at the sweetest place on Earth, Hershey, PA of course. Best part is this is going on ALL month long so you can jump on this chocolate train too. There are events for the whole family or events perfect for just you and your sweetie. Either way you won’t be disappointed, there’s chocolate involved and lots of it.

After we arrived to The Hotel Hershey (they give you a Hershey bar at check in – can I move in please?), hello luxury and such attention to detail, we popped over to the SPA. Slipped into one of the fuzziest, warmest spa robes eva, slid into our spa shoes and walked upstairs where hot chocolate and chocolate muffins to die for awaited us. Not a bad wait to wait I have to admit. Then it was time for the COCOA FACIAL. 75 minutes of pure chocolate EDIBLE bliss. Yes I licked my lips and loved every minute of it. Bonus points my skin never looked so good. Truth.

That evening we met up with the lovely Anna for a few adult beverages before meeting our hostesses with the mostessest (is that even a word, moving on) Kathleen and Kathy, for our 5 course CHOCOLATE DINNER EXTRAORDINAIRE. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM then you saw the meal in real time. It was a 3 hour food love fest paired with wine. We noshed on: Chocolate BBQ Glazed Smoked Prawns, Hazelnut & Cocoa Crusted Crab Cakes, Potato-Parsnip Bisque with White Chocolate, Raspberry Merlot Sorbets, Grilled Tenderloin of Beef with White Chocolate Apple Potato Dauphinoise, and finished it off with Dark Chocolate Silk Pie. Don’t ask me to tell you what was the best. I simply can not. It was all faboosh BUT that soup I have to say was a huge surprise. Ridiculously good.

Saturday we were treated to a CHEFS DEMONSTRATION by Chef Justin Stephens that morning, hello Cocoa Espresso Rubbed Duck Breast I love you.

followed by a WINE & CHOCOLATE TASTING that afternoon where I learned all about legs, body and that wine tastes better with chocolate. It’s true.

and then after a fun dinner with Anna we finished the evening back at the hotel with the Chocolate Dessert Buffet. Stretchy pants should have been issued at check in. I am not kidding.

Good thing the beds are dreamy, did I mention they leave you Hershey’s Kisses during the turn down service. Talk about sweet dreams. Milton Hershey knew what he was doing.

Sounds like an amazing time! We live so close, but we’ve never been to Hershey, PA. I’m inspired to go now!

Sounds AMAZING! I’ve only been to Hershey once — when I was a teenager and had stitches in my foot (um, yea … that killed a lot of fun). I would love to go back someday with my kids (sans injury, of course).
