Harness Your #SocialPower
This post brought to you by Social Power. All opinions are 100% mine.
Ever wanted to harness your social power but didn’t know where to start? What’s a problem called before it actually becomes a problem? It’s called an issue. And a just-launched New York-based startup called Social Power is on a mission to collect and resolve important everyday issues. All you need is an internet connection and an issue!
It”s actually that easy. The way Social Power works is simple. First, you post a resolvable issue that is important to you. Once you share that issue on the site, Social Power works to raise awareness for it within its own social network, while you do the same in your circles.
When 1,000 people support a particular issue, Social Power turns it into an initiative. “This is when it gets exciting,” says Gleich. “Since every Social Power initiative is potentially resolvable, there will always be a person, board or governing body capable of helping us create a resolution. We call those people ‘Agents of Change’, and once an initiative is formed, these Agents of Change are notified of the initiative they are capable of resolving.”
What am I passionate about? FOOD of course! I hope you’ll consider supporting my issue:
With so much food waste in the country, supermarkets should offer all food about to expire at a 50% discount to consumers. Denoted with a special sticker designating expiration is near so consumers are aware this is a buy now eat now item.
Now who’s ready to go and make a difference?
