Blueberry Yoghurt with Chocolate Macadamia Granola
Did you happen to catch our DEATH BY CHOCOLATE ZUCCHINI CAKE recipe? If you didn’t you should take a peek. It was pretty awesome and didn’t last long around our house. It’s a rich, decadent cake that is incredibly moist because of the, wait for it, zucchini! We created that recipe for ViSalus and we were thrilled when they emailed asking if we would do another post for them (I think they liked the cake as much as we did). This time, instead of creating a particular recipe, they asked us to share our thoughts about their brand spanking new products: Vi Crunch Protein Super Cereal and Vi Crunch Fusions.
Our family loves cereal. I mean REALLY loves cereal. We have no less than 6 boxes in the pantry at the moment so passing their taste taste wasn’t going to be easy. When it was time for breakfast, I poured bowls of Vi Crunch lightly sweetened crunch flakes cereal with almond slices and sweet cream flavor, added milk and fresh blueberries and served them up. Let’s just say the bowls were empty. Besides tasting good, I’m happy to know that their cereal has as much nutrients in one serving as their Vi-Shape shake. It’s pretty much a shake in a flake. “Vi Crunch combines their proprietary Fi-Sorb™ protein blend, an excellent source of fiber with prebiotics, and grape seed and rosemary antioxidants in a low fat, low sodium and no cholesterol formula” . It has no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives.
- 12 g protein – Proprietary FiSorb Protein Blend – oat bran, whey protein, whey concentrate, brown rice protein, milk protein concentrate
- 5 g fiber – that’s 20% of your daily fiber requirement
- 3 g sugar – sweetened with stevia and cane sugar
- grape seed and rosemary extract
- vitamins and minerals
- low sodium – only 45 mg per serving
- low fat and zero trans fat
- no cholesterol, no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives
- no wheat or wheat gluten
- vegetarian friendly and OU kosher certified
Next up was their Vi Crunch Fusions – Chocolate Macadamia Granola. I paired it with my favorite blueberry yoghurt. It added just the right burst of flavor, texture and nutrition. It has only 60 calories, is full of real chocolate and macadamia nuts and just like the cereal it has no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives. It helps curb hunger and has 1 g fiber and contains green coffee extract (which can help promote weight loss and more).
I can see myself opening a package of this granola and noshing on it for a quick afternoon snack or pick me up. Because sometimes you just want something to chew on.
