Slow Cooker Garlic Wine Chicken
Simple scratch cooking made with a handful of ingredients. This dish is all that wrapped up in a nice saucy little bow. You’ll spend about 15 minutes of actual cook time and then you’ll let the slow cooker do the rest of the work. Nice, right? What you’ll have when the timer goes off is a fall apart tender chicken thigh covered in a thick, creamy, garlicky wine sauce that will have you licking your lips and looking for a baguette.
I have always preferred chicken thighs (I like the taste and lets be honest their more budget friendly) but yes you can substitute chicken breasts. Options, you know we love them. A shake of seasoning and a light dredge of flour and into the hot pan they go for their tanning process. Grab the accoutrements and then everyone is invited into the Crock-Pot for the flavor party. A few hours later and you have a meal most will think took you all day to get that tender. Thank you Crock-Pot.

What You Will Need:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- kosher salt/pepper
- all purpose flour
- 1 onion - thinly sliced
- 8 cloves garlic - halved
- 2 cups dry white wine
- fresh thyme to garnish
What To Do:
- Place oil and butter into skillet and heat over medium high heat.
- Pat chicken thighs with kitchen towel. Season with salt and pepper. Light dredge in flour. Shake off excess.
- Transfer chicken to hot skillet and brown on both sides.
- Into slow cooker add: onion, garlic. Place chicken on top. Pour wine over. Season with salt/pepper. Cover and cook on low on until chicken is tender (approximately 6-8 hours).
- Garnish with fresh thyme.
